Despite several steep inclines this route is relatively easy with most of it taking place on well maintained paths and lanes. The route starts from a forestry commission car park on Dikes Lane outside of Great Ayton.

This walk starts in the Teesdale village of Barningham off the A66. The route gets a medium difficulty because of the river crossings it requires and ill-marked paths. Some sections of the route involve crossing moorlands which may be difficult in wet weather.

This route covers moors, farmland and forest. The first half of this route traverses the top of the Cleveland hills from Claybank (the same as the Round Hill walk) and heads West to Cringle Moor offering great views across Teesside. The route then descends to the Teesside plane and returns to Claybank along the bottom of the hills and back up through the Broughton Plantation.

This is a route offering some amazing views across the plane of Teesside and moors of Cleveland. The route covers a range of terrain from forest to moorland and can be traversed in a number of different ways.

This is a fairly leisurely walk along roads and through fields with few inclines. However, it has been rated as having a medium difficulty due to the many problems regarding the accessibility of the route’s footpaths.

This route leads from the village of Clapham to the summit of Ingleborough and back again passing several points of interest including Ingleborough Cave and Gaping Gill. Ingleborough is one of the 3 peaks, the other two being Pen-y-ghent and Whernside.

This walk mixes sections of the Pennine way and the route used for the 3 peaks challenge to offer walkers extensive views of the North Yorkshire moors. The route traverses Whitber Hill then climbs Pen-y-ghent before returning to Horton-in-Ribblesdale.

This route is another link in the chain of scenic circular walks along the Tees. This route covers the Tees passage between Middleton-in-Teesdale and Romaldkirk. The walk is a mixture of brief sections of field walking, river banks and bridleways.

This route covers the stretch of the river between the village of Whorlton and Barnard Castle. Mixing some stretches of field walking with river side paths this route is relatively long but isn’t too taxing.
